Our house rules are expected from all employees and form part of your contract of employment. They provide a guide for the do's and don'ts whilst working for Frances Charles. Should you have any questions don't forget to speak with your line manager.

Uniform & Presentation
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in the correct uniform at all times when at work. Your uniform must be clean, tidy and presentable. If you do not have the correct uniform on or it is not clean, tidy and presentable at any time you will be asked to sort it out there and then.
General Requirements for All Team Members
Both male and female staff must ensure they are clean and presentable at all times. Outstanding personal hygiene will be maintained at all times
Presentable, professional hair style
No chewed nails and no nail varnish
All staff must be cleanly shaven or trimmed at all times

Mobile Phones
Mobile phones are to be kept within your personal belongings in the staff room and not with you whilst at work at any time. Members of staff are permitted to provide the contact number of the restaurant for any emergency purposes. Should you wish for your mobile telephone to be kept in our safe during your shift, please speak with a member of management.
The Rota & Signing In & Out
The staff rota is emailed to each employee and can be accessed from anywhere by visiting francescharles-leisure.planday.com or via your Planday App which is emailed to you at the point of your onboarding. Your login details are your personal email address supplied at the time of employment along with your personal password.
Please ensure that you check your hours for the week and arrive in plenty of time for a shift. If, for any reason, you will be late please make sure you call the site you work at and advise a member of Management.
Please ensure that you ‘Punch In’ at the beginning of every shift, and ‘Punch Out’ after every shift. Please ensure that each time you have a break you are also punching in and out.
Breaks During Working Hours
If you work 6 hours or more - one 20 minute break
If you work 9 hours or more - one 30 minute break
If you work 12 hours or more - two 20 minute breaks
Your manager will advise you when you can take this, or you may ask your manager during your shift. Should you be taking a break outside of our property, no uniform is to be worn, you must be in your personal clothing. You are not entitled to take this break at the end of your shift.
Holiday Request Policy
Should you wish to request a holiday, please submit your request via your team dashboard on Frances Charles.
Note: this is a holiday request at this stage and doesn’t mean that you have automatically been authorised for the particular holiday request. You will hear back from a member of management or Head Office with an outcome of your holiday request. Holiday requests or time of requests are to be requested a minimum or 3 weeks prior to your required dates and cannot be for more than two weeks in length each time. Please refer to your contract of employment for full holiday terms.
Employee Etiquette
Please treat your work colleagues as you wish to be treated. Wherever possible help each other out. If you feel you have any concerns please make sure you speak to a member of Management.
Smoking Policy
We adopt a strict non-smoking policy for our team members on our premises. Should you require a cigarette during working hours this can only be taken during a break period and not on the property or nearby. Please ensure that you are changed out of your uniform when taking a break.
Staff Food & Drinks
During working hours staff are not to consume any alcohol of any kind. Staff drinks are restricted to tap water, soda and/or cordial, instant coffee & staff tea. Staff Coca-Cola and Lemonade are also permitted. All staff drinks must be accounted for on the till by a member of Management. Staff are not to drink anything else when at work. Kitchen staff are to ensure that plastic glasses are used in every circumstance. Drinks are only to be consumed in still areas throughout the property; and not in the view of any guest.
We provide staff with our staff menu. Please ask your manager for further information. This meal must only be consumed in still areas throughout the property, and not in the view of any guest. Staff meals do not take priority over guests.
The staff menu is available between 12pm and 5pm each day. Should you wish to consume food outside of these hours, staff discounted food is available. Please speak with your manager for further information.
