SOP Number: FOH-MOP-06
Department: All team members
Date Issued: 23 November 2022
Please read this carefully and familiarise yourself with all fire exits and location of fire extinguishers. Regular fire practices and evacuations will be held for all staff.
If you discover a fire do not panic! Raise the alarm. Report it immediately to the Duty Manager.
The Manager will decide if the premises should be evacuated and will action the fire alarm as necessary and call the Fire Brigade. He / she may delegate this to another member of staff,
In the event that the building is evacuated, all staff must remain calm and assist the guests out of the building by the nearest exit. The Manager will check the toilets and building to ensure all areas are clear,
Only attempt to extinguish the fire with the correct appliance if you have been trained to do so and there is no risk to your personal safety. If unable to extinguish the fire quickly, evacuate the building,
No attempt should be made to collect personal belonging.
Upon leaving, close all doors behind you where possible to contain the fire,
In the event of an evacuation, all staff should assemble at the appointed area, do not re-enter the building until you are told by the duty manager that it is safe to do so.
